Stay alert:
Take notice of other players' visible cards. This will give you an idea of how exactly you hand measures up in terms of the game at this point.
Adjust your strategy accordingly:
If other players are holding the cards you would need to assist you own hand, it is suggested that you consider them dead to your cause. Adjust your strategy if necessary and fold if need be.
Play clever:
13 cards are in a suit. Out of these 13, you will need 5 of them in order to create a flush. Notice that fact that if other players have the cards you are wanting, they will not be dealt to you. Nevertheless, if they are not visible, they could still possibly be dealt out at a later stage.
Should you fold or not…
It is suggested that you fold if other players have visible cards that share a strong relation to yours. If your aim is to achieve a Straight, first find out if the other players are showing the cards which you are needing. Your strategy can be adjusted accordingly.
Fold when essential. 5-Card Stud Poker is considered a game of patience; it is advisable to not bet all your money on losing hands.
Take note of the fact that 5-Card Stud Poker rewards patience as the highest virtue!
